Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

fileGOD ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at filegod.app. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

We built fileGOD with privacy as a core principle. Most of our tools run entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

What we collect

Account data

If you create an account (via Google OAuth or email/password), we store your email address and authentication credentials through Supabase. This is required to manage your account, enforce usage limits, and sync your plan across devices.

Usage data

We track which tools you use and when. Each usage record includes your user ID (if signed in) or a guest ID (stored in your browser's localStorage), the tool slug, and a timestamp. We use this to enforce free-tier limits and to understand which tools are most popular.

Guest tracking

If you use fileGOD without an account, we generate a random guest ID and store it in your browser's localStorage. This is not a cookie. It stays on your device and is only sent when you perform a tool action so we can count your usage. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data.

What we do not collect

Cookies

We use only the cookies strictly required by Supabase to maintain your authentication session. We do not use any analytics cookies, marketing cookies, or third-party tracking cookies. You might have noticed there is no cookie consent banner — that is intentional. Our analytics are fully cookieless. The only cookies on fileGOD are strictly necessary Supabase authentication cookies to keep you signed in, which are exempt from consent requirements under GDPR.

Hosting and infrastructure

fileGOD is hosted on Vercel. Authentication and database services are provided by Supabase. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. All three providers maintain their own privacy and security practices and act as data processors under our direction. We use Vercel Analytics, which is fully cookieless and collects only anonymized, aggregated page-view data with no personal identifiers.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data at any time. You can also withdraw consent for data processing. To exercise any of these rights, reach out through our contact page.

For more details on how we handle your data in plain language, visit our How We Handle Your Data page.

Children

fileGOD is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
