How We Handle Your Data
Last updated: March 2026
This is the human-friendly version. No legalese. If you want the formal version, check our Privacy Policy. Privacy Policy.
The short version: fileGOD processes your files in your browser. They never leave your device. We track the bare minimum to keep the service running. We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. We don't use third-party trackers.
What we do not collect
Your file contents
Client-side tools run entirely in your browser. Your PDFs, images, and documents stay on your device. We never see them.
Tracking cookies
We don't use analytics cookies, marketing pixels, or any form of cross-site tracking.
Advertising data
We don't run ads. There are no ad networks, no retargeting scripts, nothing.
Data sold to third parties
We don't sell or rent your data. We share limited data with three services that keep fileGOD running: Supabase (auth and database), Stripe (payments), and Vercel (hosting). They act as data processors under our direction, not independent controllers.
Browsing history or location
We use cookieless, anonymized analytics (via Vercel) to understand which pages are visited. No personal identifiers are collected.
What we do track
We collect a small amount of data to make fileGOD work. Here is exactly what and why.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Tool usage count | To enforce free-tier limits (e.g. 3 actions per week) |
| Tool slug | To know which tool was used (e.g. "merge-pdf") |
| Timestamp | To calculate usage windows (weekly resets, etc.) |
| User ID or Guest ID | To tie usage to an account or browser session |
| Auth session | To keep you signed in (Supabase session cookie) |
| Plan type | To determine your current limits and features |
What is the guest ID?
If you use fileGOD without an account, we create a random identifier and store it in your browser's localStorage. This is not a cookie. It never expires on its own, but you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.
The guest ID is only sent to our server when you perform a tool action. Its sole purpose is to count how many times you have used a tool, so we can enforce the guest usage limit.
If you sign up for an account, the guest ID is no longer used. Your usage is tracked against your authenticated user ID instead.
Cookies
The only cookies we use are Supabase authentication session cookies. These are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We don't use analytics cookies, marketing cookies, or any form of third-party tracking cookie. That's why there's no cookie consent banner — we simply don't need one. Our analytics are cookieless, and auth cookies are exempt from consent requirements under GDPR.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU (or anywhere with similar data protection laws), you have clear rights over your data.
Request a copy of all data we have about you.
Ask us to delete your account and all associated data.
Receive your data in a standard, machine-readable format.
Ask us to correct any inaccurate data we hold about you.
Object to data processing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, reach out through our contact page. We will respond within 30 days.
Contact →Third-party services
We use three external services to run fileGOD:
- Vercel for hosting, deployment, and cookieless analytics.
- Supabase for authentication and database.
- Stripe for payment processing.
Vercel Analytics is fully cookieless — it collects only anonymized, aggregated page-view data with no personal identifiers. All three providers act as data processors under our direction.
