Remove Location Data from Photos

Your photos contain GPS coordinates, camera info, and timestamps. Strip all of it before sharing — in your browser.

Remove Location Data Now

No signup. Your photos never leave your device.

Every photo your phone takes embeds EXIF metadata: GPS coordinates, timestamp, device model, lens settings, and sometimes your name. When you share photos on forums, marketplaces, or via email, this data goes with them. fileGOD strips all EXIF metadata — including location data — directly in your browser. No upload, no server, no trace.

How It Works

1

Select your photos

Drag and drop JPG, PNG, or HEIC images. Batch process up to 20 files at once.

2

Automatic metadata removal

The tool reads each file, strips all EXIF data (GPS, camera info, timestamps), and creates a clean copy.

3

Download clean photos

Download photos free of location data. Share them safely anywhere.

Why fileGOD?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do my photos contain my location?+
If you took the photo with a smartphone and did not disable location services for the camera app, yes. The GPS coordinates of where you took the photo are embedded in the file's EXIF metadata.
Can someone find my address from a photo?+
If you took the photo at home, the embedded GPS coordinates can reveal your exact address. Anyone with basic tools (even right-clicking 'Properties' on Windows) can read this data.
Does removing EXIF data reduce image quality?+
No. Metadata removal only strips the data header. The actual image pixels are not modified or recompressed. Quality stays identical.
Does social media strip location data?+
Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter strip EXIF data on upload. However, Craigslist, forums, email, and many other platforms do not. Always strip metadata before sharing on platforms you are not sure about.
Can I remove location data from photos on iPhone?+
iOS lets you remove location from individual photos in the Share menu, but it is tedious for batches. Use fileGOD in Safari on your iPhone to batch-strip metadata from up to 20 photos at once.
