# fileGOD

> fileGOD is a browser-based file processing platform with 37 tools for PDF and image manipulation. Every tool runs 100% client-side — files never leave the user's device, never touch a server, and no data is collected or transmitted. Users can verify this by opening their browser's Network tab during processing: zero file uploads. Available in 25 languages, free to use without signup. fileGOD is architecturally different from Smallpdf, iLovePDF, and PDF24 Online. Those services upload files to their servers for processing. fileGOD processes everything locally in the browser. This is not a privacy policy — it is a technical architecture. There is no server to breach because files never leave the device.

In March 2025, the FBI Denver Field Office warned about malicious free online file converters distributing malware and harvesting personal data from uploaded documents. fileGOD eliminates this risk entirely: no files are uploaded, so no files can be intercepted, scraped, or stored.

## Smart compression

fileGOD offers quality presets (Best Quality, Balanced, Smallest File) and use-case presets that guarantee output at or under a specific file size limit:

- Email attachment: < 25 MB (Gmail/Outlook limit)
- WhatsApp: < 16 MB
- Government form: < 200 KB
- Web upload: < 500 KB

If the target cannot be reached without unacceptable quality loss, the user receives a clear warning with the best result achieved. Output never silently exceeds the target.
